Senator Blumenthal Visits SKYRE: Celebrates 15 Years in Business

On Wednesday, August 9, we had the honor of hosting United States Senator Richard Blumenthal at SKYRE to celebrate 15 years since SKYRE’s founding. It was an incredible opportunity to showcase our pioneering work in hydrogen supply and CO₂ conversion.

We also had the pleasure of welcoming South Windsor State Representative Tom Delnicki, Small & Minority Business Liaison John Barios, UConn Associate Dean of Research & Graduate Education Dr. Leslie Shor, UConn Assistant Dean of Administrative Operations and Strategic Initiatives Kylene Perras, and UConn Northeast Utilities Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering Dr. Julia Valla.

During the visit, Senator Blumenthal and other guests were given an exclusive tour of SKYRE's lab facilities, where they had the opportunity to witness firsthand the company's research and commercial efforts. Senator Blumenthal engaged in productive discussions with SKYRE's leadership and technical experts, exploring various aspects of the company's groundbreaking technologies and their potential impact on mitigating environmental challenges.

Senator Blumenthal's commitment to fostering economic growth and innovation aligns seamlessly with SKYRE’s mission and achievements. His visit underscores the importance of collaboration between policymakers and local businesses, highlighting the potential for impactful partnerships that drive both economic prosperity and technological progress.

“Today we are celebrating 15 years since SKYRE’s founding. We’ve come a long way. Thank you all for being part of the journey,” said Dr. Trent Molter, as he introduced Senator Blumenthal. In his address to SKYRE staff, Senator Blumenthal noted, “I am proud to be here today. I am very impressed by not only the complexity but also the tremendous promise of SKYRE’s technology on this planet and as we venture into the solar system.”

We are immensely grateful to our guests and their commitment to fostering innovation in the fight against environmental challenges. Together, we can make a significant impact and pave the way for a brighter and cleaner world.
